The report presents an in-depth study of India’s solid waste management landscape, with a comparative analysis of public sector models and innovations in Germany and South Korea. It explores how effective policy frameworks, fiscal instruments, and advanced technologies in these countries facilitate waste monetization and resource recovery through mechanisms such as Pay-as-You-Throw (PAYT) and deposit refund systems. The study also examines India’s policy initiatives, including the Swachh Bharat Mission, and underscores the crucial roles of women and the informal sector in building a more sustainable and inclusive waste management ecosystem.

Bridge Policy Think Tank supported the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) by providing research assistance and producing multiple drafts to ensure the accuracy, coherence, and overall quality of the report on the development of the International Arbitration Centre (IAC) at GIFT City. The report highlights GIFT City as India’s maiden International Financial Services Centre (GIFT-IFSC), envisioned as a hub of innovation and global financial services beyond traditional finance. It details the rationale and design of an Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre (ADRC) within the IAC, drawing on global best practices to offer comprehensive arbitration and mediation services tailored for diverse commercial and financial disputes. The framework emphasises party autonomy, technological integration, and flexible dispute resolution mechanisms to increase investor confidence and position GIFT City as a competitive global financial node.

Payment Innovations and Risks in South Asia
The report, supported by Bridge Policy Think Tank, offers a comprehensive analysis of the rapid evolution of digital payments across South Asia. It highlights the increasing adoption of digital modes of payment, such as QR codes, mobile wallets, and real-time payment systems, which are transforming financial transactions across the region. The study emphasizes how digital financial inclusion is advancing through innovative infrastructures like digital IDs and cross-border remittance collaborations, despite existing challenges like cybersecurity risks and limited rural access.
